Candidates

Bill Flores

For Congress 2010
Texas
Huck PAC and I are pleased to endorse Bill Flores for Congress. Bill is a ninth generation Texan who wants to put an end to the reign of Nancy Pelosi as speaker of the house – and I’m sure his first vote in Congress will see to that.

Bill has consistently supported the conservative ideals of a more limited federal government with less spending, less taxation, less regulation, and less political interference with our families and small businesses. Bill has spent his career balancing budgets, meeting payrolls, simply, he knows what makes small business grow and truly understands these trying economic times.

If we want real, positive, conservative change, we need to send Bill Flores to Washington.

Texans will never have to question how Bill will vote in Congress on important social issues. Bill believes that life begins at conception and every life value. He believes in traditional marriage between one man and one woman and will stand opposed to any attempt to change that.

Please join me in supporting Bill Flores for Congress.

Brian Birdwell

For State Senate 2010
Texas
Little Rock, AR – Governor Mike Huckabee issued the following statement about Brian Birdwell:

“Huck PAC and I are pleased to endorse Brian Birdwell for Texas State Senate in district 22. A native Texan and decorated military veteran, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Brian Birdwell is a true commonsense conservative. His story of service to his country and is truly a remarkable one.

Brian is a Patron Life Member of the NRA and has received an A rating from NRA – he understands the true meaning and importance of the second Amendment. A voice for life, Brian believes that all life is precious, sacred and must be protected.

This legislative session, Texas faces great challenges with its budget and an overreaching out of control federal government – Brian will fight to protect families from government intrusion and to preserve the conservative values that have made Texas the envy of the nation.

I hope you will join me in sending this great man and a true hero to Austin.”

DAVID DEWHURST

For Lt. Governor 2010
Texas
Little Rock, AR – Governor Mike Huckabee issued the following statement about David Dewhurst:

“Huck PAC and I are pleased to endorse Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst. A native Texan, Lt. Governor David Dewhurst is also a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Central Intelligence Agency. Serving as the President of the Texas Senate, David, a true fiscal conservative, has worked to pass legislation to create new jobs and see economic prosperity spread across the Lone Star State.

Lt. Governor Dewhurst believes that a secure border is much more than an immigration issue; it is a national security concern. Leading Texas to enhance border security by hiring additional law enforcement officers and investing in new border surveillance technology, Lt. Governor Dewhurst takes the issue of border security seriously and will continue fighting for real solutions.

I hope you will join me in supporting Lt. Governor David Dewhurst for re-election.”

Erwin Cain

For State House of Representatives
Texas
Little Rock, AR – Governor Mike Huckabee issued the following statement about Erwin Cain:

“Huck PAC and I are pleased to endorse Erwin Cain. Unequivocally pro-life, Erwin believes that life begins and conception and should always be protected. Erwin understands that conservative social ideals of integrity, and personal responsibility are intrinsically connected with economic prosperity.

Erwin wants to reduce taxes and spending, protect private property rights, crack down on illegal immigration, protect our right to keep and bear arms, and promote jobs and economic development for East Texas.

A true conservative, Erwin is committed to leading Texas forward in the right direction.

Please join me in supporting Erwin Cain. Let’s send this good man to Austin.”

Ken Paxton

For State House of Representatives
Texas
Little Rock, AR – Governor Mike Huckabee issued the following statement about Ken Paxton:

“Huck PAC and I are pleased to endorse Ken Paxton. Currently serving his fourth term in office, Ken has twice been named "Texas Taxpayer Hero" by Texans for Fiscal Responsibility. Ken knows we must cutting wasteful spending – and that the key to a strong economy is not found in the government bailouts, but in less invasive policies that encourage growth, and allow for economic opportunity.

Many voters have a “vote out all the incumbents” mentality – but Texans know you don’t mess with a good thing. And quite frankly, Ken is part of the solution in Austin.

Ken believes in the sanctity of life, and supporting conservative family values like traditional marriage between one man and one woman. The matters of social issues directly impact our economy, and Ken understands that the two are connected.

I hope you will join me in supporting Ken Paxton. Texas is fortunate to have him serving in the State House, let’s make sure we send him back to Austin.”

Phil King

For State House of Representatives 2010
Texas
Little Rock, AR – Governor Mike Huckabee issued the following statement about Phil King:

“Huck PAC and I are pleased to endorse Phil King. Since his election in 1998, Phil has made a lasting impact on Texas public policy ; serving as the Chairman of the Regulated Industries Committee, one of the key committees in the Texas House, for three legislative sessions.

A commonsense conservative who consistently leads by example, Phil has rightfully earned a glowing reputation among his peers.

Phil is a true family man who understands the importance of social issues like the right to life, and traditional marriage between one man and one woman. Endorsed by Texas Right to Life, Phil King has a perfect pro-life voting record and truly understands that being pro-life is not a political position, but a moral responsibility.

I hope you will join me in supporting Phil King – we need him in Austin.”

Todd Smith

For State House of Representatives 2010
Texas
Little Rock, AR – Governor Mike Huckabee issued the following statement about Todd Smith:

“Todd Smith has selflessly served as Texas State Representative for District 92 since 1996 and he knows how to get things done. Huck PAC and I are pleased to endorse Todd Smith. Todd has supported every tax cut approved, including the largest in Texas history. Todd has also been a leader in creating jobs for Texans.

Texas needs more conservative leaders like Todd Smith who believe in the core principles of lowering taxes and cutting wasteful spending. Todd is greatly admired by his peers for his tireless work ethic, political courage and for standing up for what is right, not simply what is easy.

While many incumbents are in danger this election cycle because of their lack of action, or liberal agenda, Texans needs to keep Todd’s conservative leadership and experience in Austin. As the saying goes – if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

I hope you will join me in supporting Todd Smith, and sending him back to work in Austin.”

Cary McKay for Judge in Parker Co, TX

Huck PAC and I are pleased to endorse Cary McKay for Judge in Parker County, Texas. When I formed my grassroots organization I said that Team Huck would work to elect conservatives at every level of government. I have known Cary and his family for more than 35 years. He is a strong conservative Republican and will govern Parker County with a fair and even hand.

We need conservatives at every level of government in order to change the direction of our country and we need Cary McKay as  Judge in Parker County, Texas. Cary recognizes that it is important to have elected officials who follow conservative principles. Cary has answered the call to stand up and help Parker County.

It is important to Cary that the voices of the people of Parker County be heard on such important issues as property taxes and county ordinances. Political expediency will not influence Cary’s decisions.

Cary McKay is not a politician, but rather a proud American ready to stand up and fight for the values he believes in. I urge you to support Cary McKay for Judge of Parker County, Texas.

Team Huck Texas Newsletter

Hello Team Huck Texans,

We know it's been awhile since you have received a newsletter from TX Team Huck.  The summer has been busy with vacations, family and other things alongside of Team Huck work.  Brett Passmore is now helping to coordinate Texas Team Huck.

Huck PAC is having another nationwide house party on August 22nd!  This party will be different from the last because we will actually be working to get a principled conservative elected.   Governor Huckabee has endorsed Bob McDonnell who is running for Governor in Virginia.  He is a strong principled conservative and has a good chance of winning the election.  The polls show him in a narrow lead.

You can find out more about Bob McDonnell by going to his website.

You may be wondering why Texas Team Huck is helping to get a conservative elected in Virginia.  The reason his election is so important is that we believe his election will set the tone for Conservative candidates across the country. A win by Bob will energize the Conservative base and the Republican stalwarts. It is vitally important that we get 2010 started off with a victory in Virginia. Also don't forget that this will be a good trial run for all us to use during the 2010 campaigns for candidates like Marco Rubio and Bob Vander Plaats.

Huck PAC's goal is for Team Huck to make 10,000 calls into VA for Bob McDonnell on August 22nd.  If you would like to host a Huck PAC house party,  please let us know.  We are waiting for a conference call with Huck PAC on August 15th to find out more details about the house parties.  Volunteers can bring their cell phones and make the calls.  Ideal places to host a party are at someones home or under a pavilion someplace.  A script will be given for making the calls.   You can read more information at this link.

We would like to challenge each of you to do at least one of the following:

1.  Host a Huck PAC house party on August 22nd.
2.  Pledge to make at least 25 phone calls.
3.  Pledge to make at least 50 phone calls.  If you choose this option, please be sure to join the 50 Call Club.  Read about it here.
(You do not have to make phone calls to attend a house party.)

Also, Michael Ranson, a California coordinator for Team Huck has just recently created a support group to help gain supporters in helping Team Huck reach the goal of making 10,000 phone calls for Bob McDonnell.  Please join this group if you plan on participating in the house parties.  You may find valuable information and get answers to your questions on this website about the house parties.

If you have any questions about the house parties or want to be involved, please contact us at:

Lee and Amanda - leeandamanda@huckpacvolunteer.com
Brett and Amy Passmore - bpassmore@gmail.com

We hope that you will participate in this phone call event to help Bob McDonnell win the election!  This is what Huck PAC is all about, getting strong principled conservatives elected from the local to the federal levels.   Please help us to exceed our goal of 10,000 calls!   All it takes is 200 people making 50 calls each!!!

On another note, please be sure to check out Governor Huckabee's new blog video:

He posted an important video about the impact Barack Obama's health care reform plan will have on abortions in the United States.
The video is here
We look forward to hearing from many, if not all of you!  God bless.

The Sky Is Falling

The sky is falling or at least Washington seems to think so. And because they do, get ready for new taxes, new spending and new regulations. The nanny state is alive and well and if you don't listen and do what Washington tells you to do, you might just get hit on the head. So watch out this morning when you leave your front door, because you never know what might hit you

Huck PAC House Parties August 22nd!

We are asking participants at each House Party to make a few calls using their cell phones.  You do not have to make calls to attend a Party and participation is FREE.  We will provide the lists of voters names and phone scripts for everyone willing to participate.

Volunteer Spotlight

Lori Jungling

Lori is a 39-year-old political newbie. Born and raised in the First

in the Nation Caucus state but yet until this past primary season

I had no idea what a Caucus was. That has now all changed.

After discovering Governor Mike Huckabee she finally understood

what has made her a Republican all of these years and why

conservative core principles are the best for America. She also

came to realize that the power to shape the political landscape

lies in the hands of everyday people just like us. These are the

reasons she volunteered her time for the Huckabee presidential

campaign and why she is now volunteering for Huck PAC.

Lori notes, “I have learned to never underestimate the power

that lies in our hands to make a difference.”

Amanda and Lee Butt

Amanda and Lee started supporting Governor Huckabee during

the first primary debate in 2007. While they didn't know much

about him before the debate, and were actually pulling for Fred

Thompson, but Governor Huckabee's answers to the questions

amazed them so much that they realized that they had chosen

the wrong candidate to support.

As Texas Team Huck Coordinators, both Amanda and Lee are

excited about the opportunities Huck PAC has given them to participate

in helping to rebuild our country.

They often have had people asking, "Why do we want to support a

candidate that lives in another state, and how can we do that,

anyway?" We need to make sure that principled conservatives are

put into office, so that we can take back our country. We need to

support the more liberal states, to help conservatives win. They

need us! We can do so by participating in Huck PAC's phone bank,

donating money, and even promoting online through social networks.

If we all do a little, we will accomplish a lot together!

Amanda notes, “Lee and I are excited to be a part of Governor

Huckabee's organization, Team Huck, and we look forward to doing

our part to restore our country back to its conservative roots!”

DeLinda Ridings

DeLinda Ridings, a South Carolina public school teacher, has been

dedicated to promoting the vision and values of HuckPAC. DeLinda

agreed to take a role as South Carolina State Coordinator, because

she believes strongly in the true conservative values that once

made this country great, and that, given the chance to flourish,

can be great again. Given her background as a person of strong

Christian faith, combined with her BA in political science and public

affairs, DeLinda brings these skills and insights into her role as State

Coordinator, doing all she can to help promote the goals of HuckPAC,

which is endorsing and helping candidates who exhibit true conservative

values get elected to all levels of government. It is from this standpoint

that she and her husband Curtis, of 26 years wish to preserve for their

three children and for the countless number of children across the nation.

DeLinda’s vision for the future is to eventually leave the school system

to fully dedicate her time to helping conservative candidates get elected,

and to work behind the scenes promoting these much-needed values

in our society.

DeLinda notes, “Our day is just beginning again; the tone of the country

is changing. The fiscal and social conservative values that were recognized

by Americans have not been seen since the Reagan era. My husband

and I believe Governor Huckabee holds these values in high regard, and

with this common vision, we believe God will continue to bless the

United States.”

State Spotlight - Iowa

House Parties for Vander Plaats
By Lori Jungling, Iowa Coordinator

Last weekend two Team Huck members hosted house parties for

Huck PAC endorsed candidate Bob Vander Plaats for Iowa Governor.

Katie Borwey, County Leader, and her husband Jim hosted a party

in Urbandale and Melody Borucki, State Coordinator, and her husband

Paul hosted the other one in West Des Moines.

I attended both of these house parties and have now realized the

importance of them for candidates. Bob Vander Plaats was able to

mingle with the guests in a one-on-one situation and then he also

spoke to the whole group and had a question and answer session.

The effectiveness of these house parties for a campaign is their ability

to spread positive information about a candidate by word of mouth.

The people who attended these house parties for Bob Vander Plaats

are now filled with important knowledge about him and are energized

to spread the word and have their own house parties in which they will

introduce Bob to more people.

Huck PAC Endorsed Candidate Bob Vander Plaats Sets the Pace For

GOP Primary Field

Bob Vander Plaats is well on his way to becoming the GOP candidate,

and the next Governor of Iowa. With 46% of Republican voters

choosing Bob, and his nearest competitor at only 14%, Bob is setting

the pace for others to follow.

This strong showing of support from Republicans in Iowa proves that

they believe Bob can deliver on his promises. They know that Bob

will stand strong for conservative principles, like lowering taxes, the

sanctity of life, and traditional marriage.

Bob is a candidate Iowans can trust, and one all of America can look

to for leadership in the future.

Social Media Is Our Biggest Ally!

Good Job Texas! As I look through the other states, I see that Texas stands out. We have a substantial number of supporters and subgroups that are very active. I think quite a bit of credit goes to our state coordinators, Amanda and Courtney. These two have been all over the place making sure that everyone is getting involved and aware of what's going on with Huck PAC.

When I moved to Texas I realized I was home because everyone I met was proud of their state. Unlike anywhere I have ever been, people were excited to welcome my family, and told me, "We're glad you are finally here!" This redeeming quality will always be a part of Texas and that is part of why the Texas group of Huck PAC has such support.

There are several posts on the Texas blog about supporting Huck PAC and spreading the word. I want to take a moment to highlight someone I hate to give much credit to, but we all must do it. The Barack Obama campaign was amazing in the way it generated support on the internet. If you track the number of twitter followers, facebook friends, etc. that Obama has gathered, it is astonishing. Although I am unable to support Obama, we must learn a lesson from his campaign and now administration. Social media is very powerful, and we must all use it to generate support.

Everyone that is part of Texas' Team Huck must play a major part in gathering support for Huck PAC and its endorsed candidates. Mike Huckabee stands for quality values, morals, and standards. Although we had a lopsided election in November, most of the country believes in these same morals and values. We must be the voice that lets other people know that real candidates still exist. There are people running for office that believe in things instead of saying whatever it takes to get elected. As you engage in conversations with friends both online and offline, let them know why you support Huck PAC. Explain to them that there are quality candidates that won't just promise everyone the world.

Support Huck PAC through Twitter retweets, friend invites, group invites, and so on. Let the power of the internet assist us in increasing support for Huck PAC.
