Candidates

James Lankford

For Congress 2010
Oklahoma
James Lankford knows how to lead people, manage a budget and has the experience of running a large organization. James is a gifted communicator who will go to Congress as a statesman, not a politician and work for the right kind of change in our government.

James shares my commitment to common sense solutions that are needed for strong national defense, real border security, less government control, domestic energy solutions, lower tax rates, defending human life and more individual liberty.

I encourage Republicans in Oklahoma’s 5th District to vote for James Lankford in the July 27 primary. Congress will benefit from a strong dose of the solidly conservative Oklahoma spirit and deeply patriotic American passion that James brings to the political arena.

Scott Pruitt

For Attorney General of Oklahoma 2010
Oklahoma
Washington, DC continues to pass legislation that puts unfair demands on taxpayers, handcuffs state government and saddles generations with massive debt. Oklahoma needs an Attorney General who is willing to stand up and fight – and Scott Pruitt is that person.

Scott and I developed a close friendship during my Presidential Campaign. I know he is a man of integrity who will hold true to his values and convictions regardless of the opposition – even if that opposition comes out of Washington, DC. If elected Oklahoma's next Attorney General, Scott will initiate a constitutional legal challenge to the hugely unpopular Healthcare legislation, with a goal of rendering it null and void in the State of Oklahoma.

Scott has the legal background and experience needed to be an effective Attorney General. Whether it is issuing legal opinions on important state issues or taking on the federal government, the people of Oklahoma deserve strong leadership. That is why HuckPAC proudly endorses Scott Pruitt.”

The Sky Is Falling

The sky is falling or at least Washington seems to think so. And because they do, get ready for new taxes, new spending and new regulations. The nanny state is alive and well and if you don't listen and do what Washington tells you to do, you might just get hit on the head. So watch out this morning when you leave your front door, because you never know what might hit you

Huck PAC House Parties August 22nd!

On August 22nd Huck PAC supporters will gather to meet one another and make phone calls on behalf of Huck PAC endorsed candidate Bob McDonnell.  Bob is running for Governor of Virginia.  He has what it takes to be a great leader for Virginia.

Our goal for the day is to make 10,000 calls to Virginia voters. We are asking participants at each House Party to make a few calls using their cell phones.  You do not have to make calls to attend a Party and participation is FREE.  We will provide the lists of voters names and phone scripts for everyone willing to participate.

First though, we need House Party hosts.  If you are interested in hosting a House Party or want more information please contact Katie Beth Harris at Huck PAC or call Huck PAC at 501-324-2008.  Her email is katiebeth.harris(at)mikehuckabee.com.

As we identify House Party Hosts we will add their party information to the map below.

Michael McNutt has an article about Governor Huckabee's visit to Oklahoma City.  Mr. McNutt writes "Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, showing up at Oklahoma Christian University in borrowed cowboy boots, used part of his visit Sunday to the Sooner State to raise money for Republican state and congressional candidates.  Governor Huckabee was the lead-off speaker for the I Debate camp taking place this week at Oklahoma Christian, and followed that up with a fundraiser for his political action committee, Huck PAC, at the AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.

Why I Want To Do The Right Thing

In the fall of 2007, few people, other than political pundits and activists, were thinking of the November 2008 presidential election. Even though I was not a political activist or really overly interested in politics at all, I decided to watch a Republican presidential candidate debate, almost sure that I would vote for John McCain. I had heard that another governor from Arkansas had thrown his hat in the race; information that only caused a dubious roll of my eyes into the back of my head.

Was I ever in for a surprise! When the debate began and Mike Huckabee was allowed to answer questions, I honestly could not believe my ears! Here was a guy on the national stage, wanting to be my President, speaking my language, truly understanding where I was and sharing the same core values and beliefs as me. I was blown away.

That single debate that I watched on television that night completely changed the course of a large portion of my life. I began a feverous following of Mike Huckabee's every move, checking the website several times a day, watching every broadcast he was on and listening to the commentators every single day. I became an organizer in the first meetup group formed in Oklahoma, making acquaintances with people that I now know will be lifelong friends.

I paid 17 bucks a piece for our first Mike Huckabee for President signs that we waved on the highway. My husband and I entered a Mike Huckabee float in the local Christmas parade, calling the newspaper for an interview and achieving front page coverage. The article attracted the attention of local political activists and county officials (none of whom I knew), bringing them to the float to check things out. Some folks thought I was a paid Huckabee campaign employee. Through the real hope Mike Huckabee gave me for our country, I was transformed from an apathetic voter into a political activist almost overnight.

In February 2008, I suppose mostly in recognition of the work that I had done on the Huckabee campaign (he won in my congressional district!), I was asked to serve the remainder of the term of the vacated position of Muskogee County Republican Committee's vice-chairman. I was voted in and served the remaining year and was re-elected to a two-year term at the county convention this past March. I have served on the State Convention Rules Committee for two annual conventions now. Once again, through my work, inspired by Mike Huckabee, on the county and state committees, I have developed relationships that I know will last for years to come.

When Governor Huckabee formed Huck PAC, I knew that I wanted to continue to do the right thing -- that is to be in the small percentage of people that make things happen, not the majority that simply allow things to happen to them. Through his unwavering commitment to faith, family, freedom and fair taxes, Mike Huckabee has truly inspired me to work for what is right and Huck PAC is the mechanism we can use to grow the number of people who want to bring common sense back to America and elect conservative Republican candidates.

Leaners or Leaders

On this Huck PAC National Volunteer Day, I'm encouraged as I read the many blo messages from other Huck PAC Volunteers from around the nation, as they talk about what drew them to support Huck PAC.

For me, years of waiting for incremental change to take place with no one seeming to take the conservative bull by the horns has been very frustrating. Most people AT LEAST know that it's completely wrong for our nation's written laws to allow for the killing of human children at late stages of pregnancy for the sake of, "choice", of the mother of the child; however our laws still reflect this sad level of lack of concern for those who cannot be heard or easily seen. Virtually everyone knows that our 67,500 page tax code is completely absurd. What a waste of resources just trying to comply with this behemoth? No one on Earth has ever read the entire thing or fully understands it. We all know that it was created by well-paid, DC lobbyist, getting loopholes so that their clients can enjoy UNFAIR advantages over their competitors. It's obviously time to get rid of it for something that is FAIR!

I'm not a genius and that's exactly what, for years, has made me so frustrated, because you don't HAVE to be a genius to see these things. So, why has it gone on for so long? In a word, PANDERING. For decades, we conservatives have listened to politicians tell us that they are pro-life and anti-overtaxing-for-wasteful-spending, but too many times they either don't get elected, or worse, get elected and don't keep their promises. They pander to us during the campaigns and govern otherwise. They try to ride the fence so that they won't draw too much ire and fire from the liberal media and special interest groups. They're afraid of being labeled as dogmatic, but one can afford to be dogmatic when they are correct.

Too many have been LEANING in our direction. We don't need any more LEANERS. Gov. Huckabee has broken that mold by being a LEADER.

Let's take our bulls by the horns! Now that we have a base to work from (Huck PAC), we can accomplish the task of getting our nation back on track. Gov. Huckabee has already laid the foundation for this with his creation of Huck PAC. Amongst many other things, he stood up boldly for the Human Life Amendment and the FairTax. He didn't just LEAN in our direction; he LEAD us!

Let's plan our work together and work our plan together. The light can be seen at the end of this liberal tunnel. May the National Right To Life Committee never again endorse a candidate who does not support the Human Life Amendment over one who does! May there be too many ACTIVE members of Huck PAC in their ears, at every level, absolutely forbidding it! May the FairTax be clearly explained to enough neighbors to get our nation's fiscal sanity back before it's too late! May we grow in numbers and activity enough to win an astounding number of campaigns. We can do it and for the love of our nation, we should!

A recent example of success, was seen at our Oklahoma State Republican Party Convention, held in Oklahoma City, just a couple of weeks ago. In just ONE DAY, the number of our Team Huck Volunteers DOUBLED as 124 people signed up, not to mention that many politicians made clear to us that receiving the official endorsement of Huck PAC is at the top of their priorities. Thank you to the many volunteers who made the trip from all over the state and helped work the booth. (If only we had more than 2 clipboards, we could have signed up several more!)

Thank you Gov. Huckabee for taking the bull by the horns, by holding up the standard, by not just LEANING, but actually LEADING!

3. Mike Huckabee Hosts Fox & Friends
Governor Huckabee will host Fox and Friends on Friday April 17.  He will be on for the entire show.  Be sure to watch.

4. OK GOP Convention THIS Saturday!!!
Please join us for the 2009 Oklahoma Republican Convention THIS Saturday in OKC. We will have a HuckPAC booth, and will provide all HuckPAC team members with buttons to wear and literature for everyone to carry with them. (Buttons are a great way to start conversation, opening an opportunity to distribute information). Our booth will also allow visitors to become informed about HuckPAC, to join, and even contribute. This is a very important event for our state team.

Please consider volunteering for this event. We will need a minimum of 15 volunteers to work the table in 2 hour shifts. Shifts will be:
(open)7am-9am, 9am-11am, 11am-1pm, 1pm-3pm, 3pm-5pm (close).

You do not need to be a delegate in order to work the booth. We encourage anyone who could not become a delegate to volunteer during the time our members of the delegation will be voting, so that they can participate in the important Party elections inside the auditorium.

We have needs that we would like for our team members and supporters to consider helping with in order to make this event a success:
1. Laptop computers (to display)
2. Financial donations for various expenses
3. High quality, color copies
4. Volunteers

If you would like to volunteer or contribute for this event, simply leave a comment  and tell me how you would like to support the team.

If you are a 2009 delegate, PLEASE attend this event. The 2 issues we will be voting on are critical to our success. While HuckPAC has not yet given a formal position on these issues, our leadership team is unanimous in our support FOR the re-election of Gary Jones, and AGAINST the Caucus system.

We are all free to vote our conscience, but I am personally asking you to consider joining us in our stand for a growing Party that provides a conducive atmosphere for candidates like Mike Huckabee and his state organizers to succeed. Gary Jones has been a friend to the OK Huckabee organization, and the Caucus system would have likely prevented Mike from even being on the ballot in 2008, had it been in place.

For information about the Convention.

5. Huck PAC Re-launch

Huck PAC's all new website was launched on April 1st. It has been completely re-designed and will be loaded daily with commentary by Mike Huckabee, media alerts, downloads, videos, and exciting state of the art functionality to empower Team Huck on a state by state basis! Please visit Huck PAC.  If you have not signed up this year to volunteer for Team Huck, please visit  and join today.

I look forward to meeting and working with you all soon. Please leave a comment if you have any questions or ideas. Thank you for your support, and may God bless you.

Sincerely,

Mike Ford

A Message From Mike Ford

Thank you for your prayers and support. My family and I are overwhelmed by the kind response from people all over the country, and even some folks in Scotland! We are very fortunate to have friends who believe with us that "He Is".

Caleb underwent surgery Sunday morning to remove 20% of his left lung in order to stop this infection from spreading. The surgery went well, and the doctors believe that his left lung will grow to normal size by the time he is 7.

The damaged lung had hindered the good lung from expanding completely, so by being moved into proper position, the right lung now is operating at full capacity. Praise God that this increase will compensate for the loss of the left lung's missing capacity, and Caleb will not notice any decrease in breath or strength! He will only increase over the next 5 years!

After the surgery, he had many tubes and lines attached to him, which kept him confined to the bed and were very uncomfortable. Most of them were removed Wednesday, and he was able to move around and leave his room with assistance. He was in good spirits and laughing and playing again! He was released just a few hours ago to come home. It is good to have everyone back under one roof, sleep in our own beds and eat some home cooking!

Thanks to everyone who prayed and checked in on us, and to those who visited and brought him gifts, and provided meals and stuff to make it easier on us. It means more than you will ever know. Thanks to Huck for posting this prayer chain on the website. God bless you all.

Thanks to Patrick (DFCSTech) for posting an update and the link to the picture. I looked at that and laughed. It brought back lots of memories, so I looked up a few more. Below are a few more of Caleb from the campaign trail:

<http://www.meetup.com/mikehuckabee-66/photos/?offset=10#3187710>

I can honestly say that the Huckabee 2008 campaign has opened up yet another door in our lives. Since being involved in the "movement" in 2007, there have been many ups and downs, and a big low was the loss of the 2008 Primary. But, after last March, many of us knew we were all brought together for something bigger than ourselves.

Since then, most of us can say that we have made what could be potentially life long friends, both locally and nationally, who share a special connection.

With that, many of us have entered the political process together, getting involved in our state GOP and have watched God provide divine appointment with key political contacts time and time again. As a result, we have our people in strategic position all over the nation. Some of us have or will soon run for office to promote the conservative agenda in our communities.

But, one thing we can cherish most is that we have seen with our own eyes the vast Kingdom of our Father in Heaven. Believers have been united coast to coast, and our faith is mingled together for His Glory.  Being brought together for "such a time as this", we have a connection, a calling and an agenda that supersedes politics. We watch. We pray. We act. We believe. We get results.

As I saw all of you (Huck's Army) take time out to pray for my son, it reminded me of the US Military code of brotherhood: "Nobody gets left behind."

Thanks for coming back for me! I look forward to rejoining the fight with you soon!

Sincerely,
Mike Ford

A Fresh Wind is Blowing

My name is Mike Ford. I am a cafe manager in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Proud husband and father of three. I am very active in my local and state Republican Party and volunteered to be a coordinator for the National HuckPAC Volunteer Team.

Two Years ago, I discovered that Mike Huckabee was running for President. I remembered Mike from my days in Arkansas, where I actually helped his campaign for Governor just weeks before I moved to Oklahoma. I knew he was the man for the job, and would need some help, so I signed up to join a local Meetup group from a link on his website.

In three months, we grew from one group with five members to ten groups with over four hundred volunteers. As our state's grassroots volunteer coordinator, I was amazed to see the passion and sacrifice of the most diverse group I had ever seen.

Long time Republicans, conservative Democrats who felt "left" behind by their liberal leadership, and those who had never been involved in the political process, joined the cause. Young college students and retired teachers worked together. Home school moms and business professionals, folks from every race, vocation and economic background were all united to see a Conservative American dream come true. They loved their country, and wanted it back.

After John McCain was declared the Republican nominee, I was disappointed, but walked away convinced that we had all come together and worked hard for a purpose other than losing a race. I believed then, and still do to this day, that we were all brought together for such a time as this.

In this climate of "liberal occupation" and the demise of the Republican establishment, a fresh wind is blowing. A changing of the guard has been ordered, and a new generation of innovative conservatives is in demand.

As we come together and offer solutions to America's problems, not the GOP's problems, the Republican Party will make a strong comeback. Ideas like the Fair Tax, the Human Life Amendment and creative ways to flex the 10th Amendment on the state level are in demand. I believe that HuckPAC will play an important role in the coming conservative movement, and I wouldn't miss it for the world.
