Candidates

John Kasich

For Governor 2010
Ohio
I am pleased to endorse my good friend John Kasich for Governor of Ohio. John is a lifelong conservative who believes and has fought for lower taxes, more efficient and effective government, transformation of education, and ending the influence of special interests.

John served nine terms in the United States House of Representatives, before retiring from the House in order to pursue new challenges and experiences outside of Washington. John is a strong advocate of personal responsibility and while he served in Congress he played major leadership roles on a variety of issues. While a member of Congress, John repeatedly argued that government shouldn’t live beyond its means. As Chairman of the House Budget Committee, John worked to build the plan that balanced the federal budget for the first time since the late 1960’s.

John Kasich worked hard to achieve fiscal responsibility while he was in Washington, but he didn’t stop there. He also chaired the historic congressional conference committee that overhauled the welfare system. He built on his commitment to limited government and championed defense reform and worked hard to eliminate wasteful government spending by effectively building coalitions with members of both sides of the aisle.

John Kasich will provide exactly the kind of conservative leadership the people of Ohio need. I urge all of you to support John in his campaign for Governor of Ohio.

Rob Portman

For U.S. Senate 2010
Ohio
Rob Portman was first elected to congress in 1993 – and after winning seven elections – he is clearly one of the few elected officials who has stayed true to the conservative principles that make this country great.
There is no question that Rob is unequivocally pro-life – earning a 100% rating from the National Right to Life and being among the first to co-sponsor a ban on Partial Birth Abortion. His congressional voting record has earned him an A rating from the National Rifle Association. Rob is a lifetime hunter and fisherman and remains a conservationist who will continue to defend our Constitutional rights.

Rob Portman has a long record of promoting a pro-growth and pro-jobs agenda. In the midst of the historic economic recession that is hitting Ohio particularly hard, Rob Portman’s ideas for creating jobs in Ohio will help put Ohioans back to work. In fact, Rob’s job creation ideas will get big government out of the way clearing the path for Ohio’s small business to flourish and provide relief to working families who are struggling to make ends meet.

During his distinguished career of service in Congress and in the Cabinet, Rob kept his home in Ohio and kept his loyalties to the people of his home state. While many people fall in line with the desires of the Washington special interests, Rob Portman instead, chose to stand strong and fight for all Ohioans.

I sincerely hope that you will join with me in supporting Rob Portman for U.S. Senate from Ohio. I know Rob will provide the right kind of leadership we so desperately need.

Steve Chabot

For Congress 2010
Ohio
Without a doubt, we need to send Steve Chabot back to Congress. Ohioans are privileged to have a true conservative in Steve, who believes in the sanctity of life and will continue to stand up for the unborn. Steve understands you cannot penalize productivity and instead, wants to implement economic policies that will strengthen the job market – not weaken it.

Steve Chabot’s conservative record is clear – consistently voting to stop wasteful government spending and lower the tax burdens on hard working families. Many nonpartisan advocacy groups like the National Taxpayers Union agree and have rated Steve as one of the most pro-taxpayer members of Congress. At a time when Washington liberals are pushing through unpopular tax policies and growing government at a record pace, with little or no regard for what the people really want, now more than ever, we need conservatives like Steve in office.

Huck PAC and I are pleased to endorse Steve Chabot for U.S. Congress. Join me in helping send Steve back to Congress.

Tom Ganley

For Congress 2010
Ohio
Tom Ganley’s story epitomizes the American dream – he is a self-made man from humble beginnings who wants to go to Washington to make a real positive difference for Ohio and the country.

Tom is a man of strong convictions who doesn’t need to check the latest poll or political winds to find a position – he stands for life, a strong national defense, lower taxes and more efficiently run government. Tom is a family man who has grown a once small business and maintained its success in the face of extreme obstacles. All of Ohio has been hit hard during this current economy, but Tom has been a job creator all his adult life and he knows how to balance the books and cut wasteful spending.

Huck PAC and I are proud to endorse Tom Ganley for U.S. Congress. If he has the kind of courage needed to stand up and help take down the Mob, then he will never back down to the liberal left leadership of Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid.

Mike Huckabee and John Kasich in Columbus, Ohio

I  had the opportunity to see Mike Huckabee and John Kasich together at Ohio State’s campus in Columbus Ohio this past Tuesday in a live webcast event that featured Mike Huckabee and John Kasich talking about new ideas to move the state of Ohio forward by creating a great business environment and a family environment so that today’s young people will want to make Ohio a place they want to live and work .

After hearing John Kasich I could definitely understand why Mike Huckabee has endorsed Kasich for Governor of Ohio. John Kasich truly believes in vertical politics. He is not worried so much about left vs. right, but what he is focusing on is what will be the ideas that lift everyone in Ohio up. He will be a great governor for our state when he is elected..with your help.

And of course Mike Huckabee shined again with his humor, but also his wisdom. He offered solutions to get government out of the way and give people the opportunity to thrive as he drew from his successful experiences as the Governor of Arkansas. A state that he helped bring prosperity to, even when working with a legislature that had more than 80% Democrats.

After this event I couldn’t help but think how much better shape this country would be in if Mike was president right now. Instead of the bailing out business that made poor decisions he would have put the IRS put of business. Instead of a disastrous health care plan, Mike would have encouraged healthy living and a free market solution to health care. Instead of the apologize for America tour, we would have had a President who humbly accepted America as the leader for freedom and peace in this world and encouraged others to follow our lead. Instead of weakening our military and not having a clear strategy he would have listened to his generals and got the job done to protect us.

With these thoughts in mind I hope that I see Mike Huckabee back in Ohio often in 2010 supporting Kasich and other candidates, but then in 2011 and 2012 giving us the opportunity to support him for President!

Here are some pictures from the event:

Kasich Offers Solutions to Help Ohio

The Columbus Government Examiner has a story about John Kasich's visit to Columbus. Kasich told an audience in Columbus Tuesday that Ohio is at a crossroads and must "lower its overhead so it can lower its prices that will change the menu to get excitement going in Ohio" again. Joining Kasich in the live webcast that took place in Columbus was former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

The Sky Is Falling

The sky is falling or at least Washington seems to think so. And because they do, get ready for new taxes, new spending and new regulations. The nanny state is alive and well and if you don't listen and do what Washington tells you to do, you might just get hit on the head. So watch out this morning when you leave your front door, because you never know what might hit you

Huck PAC House Parties August 22nd!

On August 22nd Huck PAC supporters will gather to meet one another and make phone calls on behalf of Huck PAC endorsed candidate Bob McDonnell.  Bob is running for Governor of Virginia.  He has what it takes to be a great leader for Virginia.

Our goal for the day is to make 10,000 calls to Virginia voters. We are asking participants at each House Party to make a few calls using their cell phones.  You do not have to make calls to attend a Party and participation is FREE.  We will provide the lists of voters names and phone scripts for everyone willing to participate.

First though, we need House Party hosts.  If you are interested in hosting a House Party or want more information please contact Katie Beth Harris at Huck PAC or call Huck PAC at 501-324-2008.  Her email is katiebeth.harris(at)mikehuckabee.com.

As we identify House Party Hosts we will add their party information to the map below.

Conservatism Is Not Dead!

In the last couple of weeks we have heard a lot of chatter about how conservatism is dead and that the Republican Party needs to become more moderate in order to stay in power. The thought of the day by many Republican leaders is that we just need to listen a little more to what the American people want.

I think that both of these ideas are dead wrong and that is why I am working hard every day to help Team Huck not only stand up for the conservative values you and I stand for, but lead the fight in standing for these values.

Consider the facts: when Republicans offered The Contract with America back in 1994 to stand for limited government they gained back majority control in the Congress because the American people were ready to push back against the Democrats out of control spending and burdensome regulations. The Republicans continued to have a majority in Congress until they decided that the Contract with America was no longer relevant and they started to forget what they were elected for.

If you are a voter and you are given the choice between full blown liberalism with all of its promises and a government that will take care of you from cradle to grave and liberalism-lite which basically promises the same thing, only slower and more controlled then what will most voters choose? They will of course choose the full blown liberalism since there is no clear alternative.

On the other hand if Republicans run as conservatives and offer a clear alternative to this liberalism like Ronald Reagan did, then they will win!

Huck PAC understands this and that is why Huck PAC supports only candidates who are true conservatives and fight for the values you and I care about.

These candidates are not willing to give up on any of the three wings of conservative principles. They stand up for the social conservative values such as being pro-life and pro- traditional marriage. They support the economic conservative principles of lower taxes, limited government, and less regulation. Finally, they support the conservative nation defense principles of a strong military and a secure border.

These candidates are also not anti-poor, anti-middle class, anti-environment or any of the other stereotypes that are put on conservatives. They are exactly the opposite in that they want to empower the poor, by cutting taxes and regulation so that more are able to find jobs and live out their American dream. They work to help the middle class by letting them keep more of their own money and not making small business regulations so overbearing to help them reach the next level of prosperity. Finally, they are not anti-environment because they understand that while we need to be good stewards of God’s creation we should not put excessive environmental regulations on people that will do much more harm than good to the environment by keeping people in poverty by “taxing” them with new fees and costs.

So if you are like me and want to support the “Huckabee Republicans” who follow in the tradition of Ronald Reagan and are truly conservative then become a part of Team Huck today!

We Are Committed

We began our adventure in supporting Gov. Huckabee in the Spring of 2007. The more we got to know him the more we realized how much the United States needs someone of his character and the principles and values he stands for.

What also really motivated us was that we had been living in England for nearly two years and EXPERIENCING where a liberal administration had taken the country. Every week there were numerous examples of how far left England had shifted. Recently the International Monetary Fund warned that Britain will face the worst recession of any advanced nation. And don't even get Michelle started on the ‘joys’ of socialized health care!

Although we were based in England, we threw ourselves into blogging and posting comments on various sites in support of Gov. Huckabee, even making numerous late night phone calls to primary states! After Christmas in January'08 we drove from Ohio to Iowa to volunteer at the Huckabee HQ in Des Moines - what a thrill and unforgettable experience that was! We also initiated the “Max Out for Mike” and “Save for Mike” grassroots fundraising initiatives.

We have re-located to Cincinnati, Michelle's home town, and we are honored to have been asked to be Team Huck state coordinators for Ohio. I (Colin) have over 15 years of experience in sales and marketing with high-tech and digital media companies and Michelle has 15 years of experience in marketing and event management. She has managed large volunteer programs in Washington, DC so her experience will be very useful for our role within Team Huck.

We truly hope that Gov. Huckabee will run again in 2012. However, regardless of his future political plans, we are committed to helping Huck PAC support candidates who promote conservative principles and values and we strongly encourage anyone who hasn't already volunteered to register to join Team Huck.

We have had first hand experience of where the United States is now headed with a liberal government and we never want to look back and say that we had an opportunity to make a difference but instead stood by and watched the United States follow Europe’s shift towards socialism.

I Am Honored

I am honored to be one of the Ohio Coordinators for Team Huck because as Edmund Burke said long ago “The Only Necessary for Evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing” Or put another way, by Team Huck’s leader Mike Huckabee, we need to “Do the Right thing”

I am a Christian and a strong conservative and have worked tirelessly for Republican candidates because they promised to fight for the sanctity of life, traditional marriage, lower taxes a strong national defense and limited government. In 2000 I put in many volunteer hours to help get President George W. Bush elected and with his election and the Republican majority’s that came with it I have to admit I expected big things.

I worked hard again in 2002, 2004 and 2006 to keep Republican’s in control as well, even after they started to let us down more and more. I was discouraged because Republicans did not stay true to the conservative principles they claimed to stand for.

Then in 2007 when Mike Huckabee decided to run for President I was really excited. I had read his book “Character is the issue” and then really started to study his views carefully.

He stood clear on his principles in supporting life, marriage the fair tax, a strong national defense and a secure border. He also was clearly the most articulate candidate running for president. Before long I was doing everything I could to make calls for Governor Huckabee. I called Iowa and New Hampshire, Michigan and South Carolina. I made several Super Tuesday calls as well. When he bowed out after Texas I was disappointed with the result, but for the sake of the country I held my nose and worked to try to get McCain elected.

Well, now as you all now we have Barack Obama as president. He comes up with something new every day in steering this country down the wrong path. As Mike Huckabee said his decisions are not “strong and decisive they are wrong and divisive”. His attacks on the sanctity of life, his decisions that have weakened our national defense and his plan that is in place to take over the banks and private companies are scary.

But you and I have a chance, a window of opportunity, to do something right now to turn the tide. Let’s elect true conservatives in 2009 like Bob McDonnell as governor of Virginia and Duncan Hunter Jr. in 2010 in California. These are true conservatives who will fight for the values you and I believe in. All of the candidates that Team Huck supports will be 100% pro-life and pro-marriage, support lower taxes, smaller government, a strong national defense, true border security and will remember that they work for us, not the other way around.

So if you want true conservatives that will serve you in working to turn this country back around and keeping our liberty out of the hands of government join me in volunteering for and donating to Team Huck!

Government Is Not Reason

"Government is not reason, it is not eloquence, it is force; like fire, a troublesome servant and a fearful master. Never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action."
-George Washington

I do often wonder what our Founding Fathers would think and moreover, do, if they were to be witness to the state of our country in these modern times. No doubt they realized deeply the experiment of Liberty that America was when they founded her. They relied heavily on the fact that individuals would earnestly defend freedom because they would understand that freedom is inherently undergirded by a faith in the one true God. The belief in any God or foundational absolutes, seem almost inappropriate today-and some in our government would certainly say that it is. I suppose that since I believe in a nation that was founded on true Christianity and that there are certain moral absolutes, I am now an extremist, someone to be watched and paid attention to, for our government never can know what I might do in the name of my beliefs.

I do not believe that most American’s realize the peril that our country faces. We are truly at a crossroads. Not that crossroads have never occurred before, but that we have a clear decision to make. If we pursue and adopt programs such as universal health care, abortion on demand, euthanasia, government controlled businesses, etc., then we will permanently say farewell to the America that our forefather’s shed their blood to secure.

It breaks my heart to think of the ways in which socialist government policies will and already are affecting me and my family. When health crises begin to occur with the older generations, I realize that if we lived in any other country but America, these valuable elders would be sent home to die. When a close friend delivers a baby at 23 gestation, I realize that if this baby were to be born in any other country besides America, she would likely not survive; but because she was born here, she thrives. More personally, I consider my and my husband’s current journey through international adoption. If we lived anywhere else in the world, I doubt that we would have the resources, support and ability to adopt and provide a future for a child like we do in America.

There are so many reasons that I strongly support Huck Pac and the work that it does. The very fact that Huck Pac only supports candidates who hold fast to the foundational values of faith, family, freedom, life and limited government, show me that this is an organization worth supporting.

Most do not realize that the value that we place on important foundational issues, including life, is absolutely instrumental in forming the value we place on everything else. And the reasons for placing value on these must come from an absolute source. That source is the truth that is given to us from our Creator, and our Founders understood that. Huck Pac understands that, too. That is why I support Huck Pac, because Huck Pac supports that candidates who will take the torch and run; run for a stronger, more prosperous, more life-loving America. I will continue to spread the word about Huck Pac-and please, you do the same, too!
