The Sky Is Falling

The sky is falling or at least Washington seems to think so. And because they do, get ready for new taxes, new spending and new regulations. The nanny state is alive and well and if you don't listen and do what Washington tells you to do, you might just get hit on the head. So watch out this morning when you leave your front door, because you never know what might hit you

Huck PAC House Parties August 22nd!

On August 22nd Huck PAC supporters will gather to meet one another and make phone calls on behalf of Huck PAC endorsed candidate Bob McDonnell.  Bob is running for Governor of Virginia.  He has what it takes to be a great leader for Virginia.

Our goal for the day is to make 10,000 calls to Virginia voters. We are asking participants at each House Party to make a few calls using their cell phones.  You do not have to make calls to attend a Party and participation is FREE.  We will provide the lists of voters names and phone scripts for everyone willing to participate.

First though, we need House Party hosts.  If you are interested in hosting a House Party or want more information please contact Katie Beth Harris at Huck PAC or call Huck PAC at 501-324-2008.  Her email is katiebeth.harris(at)mikehuckabee.com.

As we identify House Party Hosts we will add their party information to the map below.

What's Gov. Got To Do With It?

Seems like a lot of things in our country of late have been heading south. Our economy sure has been heading south as the Obama administration and his left tilted allies on Capitol Hill seem to think that mortgaging our future and that of our children will solve the already out of control spending.  Pork laden pet projects are viewed as the solution to debt that goes into the trillions.  I think our level of sanity has gone south to silently sit by and swallow that senseless reasoning.

Our moral compass has been turned upside down as well as the President has just led us in a “National Gay, Lesbian, and Trans-Gender Pride” month.  Magnetic north has become magnetic south.  What is right is mocked.  What is wrong is extolled.  Abortion is facilitated while the value of life is degraded.  When the compass points the wrong way, is it any wonder we walk in a moral wilderness?

Sadly for some, this moral and economic plunge have left them with emotions, hope, and political engagement likewise headed south.  Nowhere is this more a temptation than in New Jersey where despite all the evidence for the need for change, again and again NJ voters seem to blindly follow the Democrat label on election day while Republicans repeatedly seem to erroneously believe being Democrat-lite will be a winning solution.

But now more than ever we as conservatives need to stand up and say “NO!” to Obamanocics, “No!” to Obamanation abomination and “No!” to giving up.  It all starts with our owning the concept of personal responsibility.  The question isn’t “what is Obama doing?”, “How is my state voting”, or “What faults are there in the Republican response to it all?”  The issue is personal:  “What do you and I believe and what are you and I willing to do about it? “ Win or lose we need to “Do the Right Thing” as Governor Mike Huckabee’s recent book encourages.  If each of us would take that stand than those in the political middle who are tired of Democratic excess and Republican accommodation will be inspired to join us to restore our state and our country to greatness.

So what’s the Gov got to do with it?  If we’re talking about Governor Corzine and his disastrous policies- that should give us reason to rally to a positive vision for our state and country that is far different than what he has given us.  And if we’re talking about Governor Mike Huckabee, than I hope you’ll see that going south isn’t always a bad thing.!  The former Arkansas governor is leading the way through HuckPAC to fight for what is right here in New Jersey and across our state.  Come join Team Huck as we change our state and nation one person at a time.

Values Voters

"Ladies and Gentlemen, it is time for those of us who call ourselves "values voters" to pledge our lives, our families, our fortunes, and our sacred honor to that which is true, which is right, and which is eternal"- When I heard Mike Huckabee speak those words at the Values Voter Summit in Washington in September of 2007 and my life has not been the same since. I don't use the expression"the call of God" lightly but in that moment I felt specifically called to do anything I could to help this man and that for which he stands .

I am a business owner (Gary Walter Baseball Cards) and a pastor (SonRise Community Church) who has always been very motivated to promote a life-affirming pro life agenda. I found in Mike Huckabee an articulate voice for that position and more. I found a voice for the principles of the sanctity of marriage, small government, strong national defense, and a world view consistent with my own. My wife and I took off a day after Christmas and drove 1000 miles to Iowa to volunteer in the Governor's primary bid there, as soon as that was done we drove to New Hampshire and then flew to South Carolina where we were the volunteer coordinators in Columbia. The primaries didn't finish as we would have wanted but our feeling of a call to help Mike and the cause he represents continue in our support for Huck PAC and frankly to seeing Mike Huckabee become president in 2012.

National Volunteer Day at Team Huck

National Volunteer Day at Team Huck (aka Huckpac).

It's a day to celebrate the growing band of volunteers for Team Huck, some who are experienced political coordinators, and some who are, like me, well....new at this.

Until this past year, I had never spent hours making phone calls for a candidate before (I had never made a single call before this year). I had never sent e-mails to people, encouraging them to vote a particular way. I had never given of my money to a political leader before (well, taxes don't count...).

It's not that I hadn't cared. I had.

It's not that I wasn't informed. I was.

It's not that I didn't vote. I always did.

But this time, I got inspired. Gov. Mike Huckabee has inspired me.

He's not running for anything right now. But he is seeking to get people involved in getting a new generation of leaders elected: leaders who stand for what he stands for, who think the way he thinks, and who will fight for what he knows matters -

The right to life for all Americans - no matter their stage of development on the human being timeline. The guardianship of the time-tested tradition of marriage as a foundation of the family. The link between the second amendment - and the first. A revolutionary new idea that combines giving government its due and letting the people keep theirs: the Fair Tax. And a defense of the nation that acknowledges the evil in the world - but doesn't ascribe it where it doesn't belong. And much more...

Gov. Huckabee showed me how my values can be upheld without bashing someone else's, that I can articulate strong positions - and still smile while I do it, that Vertical Politics looks to an individual as a fellow American - and potential friend first, not as an automatic enemy.

Are you like me? I'm a 51-year-old happily married wife (of 28 great years!) and mother (three fabulous children, and one son-in-law!), I'm overwhelmed to know Jesus Christ as my Savior (He is my everything), I'm a homeschooling teacher (since 1990) and a member of my church's ministry staff....I have passions about sharing my faith, stopping human trafficking, raising my kids, and being all God wants me to be...

...but along the way, I've come to realize I can make a difference in my country, too. Team Huck is how I can do it. Everything I do there - give, call, blog, network, support - gets multiplied, because other like-minded people do it with me.

Why not join me? Get inspired, sign on, and let's make a difference!

Tea Party in Belmar, New Jersey

Belmar New Jersey

I went to the tea party in Belmar NJ- on the ocean boardwalk.  I wish  I had pictures but I don't.  But what a great experience.   Temperatures around 40 degrees with a cold biting wind and rain and  occasional sleet didn't deter over 500 tea party teabaggers from protesting the  tax and spend congress and president.  I proudly wore my Mike Huckabee tea  shirt when a CNN photographer took some footage so maybe that will show up on  the air.  The crowd was enthusiastic and was complemented by dozens of cars  driving up and down the strip honking their horns in support.  Truck air  horns were especially welcomed and got the crowd going.  On a day like this  with only grassroots info going out, this was a tremendous success and show  of support against the nonsense in Washington.

Best Regards,
