Candidates

Mike Cox

For Governor 2010
Michigan
I am proud to endorse Mike Cox for Governor of Michigan. Mike is a strong conservative, who has been fighting for the citizens of Michigan for many years. Mike Cox is the present Attorney General of Michigan and he has stood up to the powerful to protect the people. Mike has made a name for himself as a strong leader, willing to make bold moves to produce results that benefit the people of Michigan.

Mike Cox has worked tirelessly to protect the citizens of Michigan from unreasonable fees charged in mortgage foreclosure actions. He has also saved utility customers more than $2.4 billion in what would have been higher utility costs.

Mike is best described as Michigan’s Pro-life, Pro-gun conservative candidate for Governor of Michigan. He is a principled conservative who has been a champion for the conservative principles that are important to the Huck PAC family. Mike is an innovative, strong leader who is not afraid to take a stand on an important issue. He is opposed to the runaway tax and spend policies we are seeing at the federal and state levels.

Mike has also fought hard to protect Second Amendment rights in Michigan. Mike Cox says “The right to keep and bear arms is fundamental. No government should impinge on the basic right to defend yourself.”

I SUPPORT MIKE COX FOR GOVERNOR- I AM ASKING YOU TO SUPPORT HIM, TOO

Randy Bishop

For Michigan State Senate 2010
Michigan
I first met Randy at a rally during my Presidential campaign, one freezing cold January night in Michigan. He wanted me to speak at an event in Traverse City the next night, but the campaign was taking me back down to South Carolina, so I asked Randy if he would speak on my behalf and he did.

I was proud to have Randy represent me then, and I’m honored to endorse him now.

Candidates like Randy are the very reason I ran for President and the very reason I started Huck PAC. It is important to me that candidates like Randy – hard-working, patriotic Americans who only want what is best for our country – be elected to office.

Randy will bring true commonsense solutions and real world expertise to Lansing. We need more public servants like Randy Bishop, join me in sending this fine American to Lansing. Learn more about Randy's campaign here: http://truckerrandy.ning.com/

Mike Cox For Governor of Michigan

Friends,

I am proud to endorse Mike Cox for Governor in Michigan and hope you will support him too.

Mike Cox is pro-life, pro-family, and pro-gun. Mike Cox is a principled conservative, an effective leader, and a champion for all the issues we hold dear.

Mike Cox has a specific plan to cut spending , cut taxes, reform government and create jobs for Michigan.

MIKE COX: MICHIGAN’S PRO-LIFE, PRO-GUN CONSERVATIVE

Since launching my 2008 Presidential campaign I’ve crisscrossed the United States and I’ve had the opportunity to meet a lot of candidates. Mike Cox is a principled conservative who has been a champion for all the causes we hold dear.

As, Michigan’s first pro-life Attorney General, Mike Cox has consistently defended the unborn. Several years ago, in 2007, Mike filed an appellate brief with the U.S Court of Appeals after the Court struck down Michigan’s law prohibiting the barbaric practice known as partial birth abortion. Cox ultimately appealed the case all the way to the United States Supreme Court.

Mike has also defended traditional marriage and is the only candidate for Governor in Michigan who supported the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative which banned racial preferences and quotas in state government and universities.

CUTTING GOVERNMENT SPENDING AND PUTTING MICHIGAN BACK TO WORK

While other candidates talk about fixing Michigan, Mike Cox has a comprehensive plan to get it done. It is an impressive plan that includes proposals to cut billions of dollars out of the state budget, cut taxes on job providers and families by $2 billion, make government more transparent, reform education, and revitalize Michigan cities. You can take a look at the plan for yourself at www.mikecox2010.com.

The Sky Is Falling

The sky is falling or at least Washington seems to think so. And because they do, get ready for new taxes, new spending and new regulations. The nanny state is alive and well and if you don't listen and do what Washington tells you to do, you might just get hit on the head. So watch out this morning when you leave your front door, because you never know what might hit you

Huck PAC House Parties August 22nd!

On August 22nd Huck PAC supporters will gather to meet one another and make phone calls on behalf of Huck PAC endorsed candidate Bob McDonnell.  Bob is running for Governor of Virginia.  He has what it takes to be a great leader for Virginia.

Our goal for the day is to make 10,000 calls to Virginia voters. We are asking participants at each House Party to make a few calls using their cell phones.  You do not have to make calls to attend a Party and participation is FREE.  We will provide the lists of voters names and phone scripts for everyone willing to participate.

First though, we need House Party hosts.  If you are interested in hosting a House Party or want more information please contact Katie Beth Harris at Huck PAC or call Huck PAC at 501-324-2008.  Her email is katiebeth.harris(at)mikehuckabee.com.

As we identify House Party Hosts we will add their party information to the map below.

Greetings From Beautiful Michigan

Greetings from beautiful Michigan!

We wanted to update you on our attendance recently (Saturday, June 13) at the Michigan Tea Party Convention in Holt, MI.

Over 250 people who support less taxes and less government in their lives, attended this event, where groups such as Michigan Fairtax, conservative radio, and others, including us, as MI Team Huck representing Huck PAC, had tables set up.

At our Huck PAC table, the three of us as Team Huck Coordinators for Michigan, set out Huck stickers and other Team Huck and Huck PAC handout information.  We used this opportunity to talk one-on-one with many people about Huck PAC's mission of supporting conservative candidates, getting around 50 new supporters for Huck PAC on our Event Sign-in Sheets, as well as receiving 4 new Candidate Surveys from other Michigan office candidates.

We also shook hands with and talked with many of our Michigan Gubernatorial Candidates who were in attendance, asking them about their stands on issues, especially the Michigan Fairtax.  They all are "waiting and researching" the Fairtax issue!  We handed them another Huck PAC Candidate Survey form (we had already sent them one).  We are hoping a Candidate will come forward soon and support the Fairtax, so we can recommend a Candidate to Huck PAC in the near future!

We were broken up into sessions where we listened and asked questions of reporters from the main Michigan media.  They shared with us how to do an effective press release for our events and get media attention.  As you can see from the article below from a reporter for the Detroit News, this event was covered and we had great success in getting positive attention for the Michigan Fairtax! (Read the article here)
We were also able to connect with others in our area of Michigan to plan future events and efforts for the conservative cause.

We hope our efforts for Huck PAC and being Delegates at this event will help make the strides necessary to get the Michigan Fairtax on the ballot in November 2010, as we also choose our next Governor.

Michigan's economy, coupled with the the highest unemployment percentage in the country at 13%, makes the Fairtax the only real answer for us, as well as the rest of the country!

RE:      IMPORTANT Michigan Team Huck NEWS
                              ACTION ALERT!

With the Economic Crisis all across the Country, but especially here in our state of Michigan, we want to do all we can as Team Huck Volunteers to work to provide accountability for our leaders.
With our upcoming Gubernatorial Race in 2010, we want to insure our new Governor will stand firm on conservative issues that HuckPAC endorses, such as the MICHIGAN FAIRTAX.
Below is a current list of candidates for Michigan Governor with information about them and how to reach them.
We want to begin putting pressure on each person who wants to represent US and speak for US, and to hold them accountable on where they stand on the issue of the MICHIGAN FAIRTAX.  This is a vital issue to the future of our state.

A HuckPAC Survey is being sent to each Michigan Governor candidate for consideration for endorsement by HuckPAC

    What Can YOU do NOW as a HuckPAC Supporter to help??
Listed below are STRONG POINTS in support of the MI Fairtax and why it is needed in Michigan.  Choose one or more EACH WEEK for SIX WEEKS to relay to a candidate and press them to support the Fairtax.  Use your own words and experiences to express it--you can cut and paste parts of each point if you wish.
Use the listed various contact avenues to reach them!  Let's Roll!

Why the MI FairTax is needed in MI:
  • It will make Michigan labor and business more competitive by removing "business" taxes from the prices of Michigan products;
  • It eliminates the ruse that businesses pay taxes (citizens understand that they pay all business taxes as these taxes are passed on in prices);
  • It is "Truth in Taxation" as citizens will be able to see their true tax burden (on every sales receipt) rather than having taxes hidden in prices;
  • It stops penalizing productive behavior with taxes on income from savings, work, investment risk-taking, etc.;
  • It eliminates billions in tax compliance cost by individuals and businesses (no more individual income tax returns or Michigan Business Tax returns);
  • It will give Michigan the most attractive tax environment for individuals and businesses in the U.S.;
  • It allows individuals and businesses to act freely in their economic best interest without consideration of the tax consequences of their decisions;
  • It eliminates the buying and selling of tax favors by elected officials and lobbyists, which today corrupts our representative form of government;
  • It eliminates the taxation of the necessities of life by a monthly "prebate" to every Michigan household to offset what the tax would be on poverty level expenditures;
  • It is loophole free, everyone pays their fair share;
  • Because of the prebate and other item not taxed by the MI FairTax the effective tax rate varies from 0% to 9.75%, resulting in the typical median income ($50,000/yr.) family of 4 having an effective tax rate of 2.7%.
  • Provides the state government with a more stable revenue which permits better budget planning;
  • Many more features are available at Michiganders For The FairTax.

Michigan's First Group Chat

It's so wonderful to feel the crisp green grass, the warm fresh air blowing through the trees, and the sunshine pouring downward upon my face. It definitely is getting close to summer here in Michigan. Now that I have your attention, listen up, because the Michigan Coordinators are excited to announce the first official Team Huck Online Grassroots Chat for Michigan. This first event will be an informal "get to know each other" Group Chat.

         Mark it down on your calendars: May 30, at 7:00pm.

         The chat will be held on the official Michigan Team Huck group. Click Here.

You must be signed in and have a Team Huck account to join in on the chat. We will start by introducing ourselves and then get to know each other a little better. If you want, you can have something ready to share, either personal or political.

Why I Joined Team Huck

Michigan has been a dying state for years now. Businesses are so tax-laden, they are fleeing the state, or simply shuttering their doors. Michigan never recovered from the initial recession, its been dead last in economic recovery for years now. Its unemployment rate is in the double digits.

Our democratic governor has approached business in the same way the Obama administration has proposed. Taxes and fees have increased for all. The result is a mass exodus of business and long lines at the unemployment office. What democrats seem to be unable to grasp is that if there is no business, there is no tax to collect.

As a former small business-owner, I had some insight into the business community. I was stunned by the amount of hours I would have to spend everyday- just to calculate the amount of tax I had to pay. Sales tax, FICA tax, FUTA tax, Employee tax, Single Business Tax, and so on. One day I was so fed up, I grabbed the earlobe of an elected official, showed him all the forms I had to fill out, and yelled "Stream- line this stuff!"

The answer for Michigan's economic woes and the country's for that matter is the FairTax. To fill out one form instead of 6 or 7, frees up a business to conduct business. With no corporate income tax, businesses would flock to Michigan like geese returning in the spring.

Under the FairTax, people can keep their paycheck. If they could keep their paycheck instead of paying into the government welfare sheets (by paying an exorbitant unemployment tax), they would have money to spend on local businesses. The businesses wouldn't be laying people off- and businesses would be flourishing instead of folding. If people had money in their pockets, instead of lining the pockets of fat Washington bureaucrats, they'd start buying houses and cars again.

We desperately need Huckabee's FairTax- that's change we can believe in. Right now in Michigan we are lucky if we have the change in our pockets. I had the thrill of attending a Tea Party in Columbia, SC.

Afterward, I was able to hear Mike Huckabee and Neil Bortz at the Fair Tax Rally. I gave the Governor one of my bumper stickers. (try to get copy of bumper sticker to post) Huck's response was to shake his head sadly and say "Ain't that the truth."

If you want to see what this country is going to look like after the liberals get hold of it, (God forbid) then take a good look at Michigan.
