The Sky Is Falling

The sky is falling or at least Washington seems to think so. And because they do, get ready for new taxes, new spending and new regulations. The nanny state is alive and well and if you don't listen and do what Washington tells you to do, you might just get hit on the head. So watch out this morning when you leave your front door, because you never know what might hit you

Huck PAC House Parties August 22nd!

On August 22nd Huck PAC supporters will gather to meet one another and make phone calls on behalf of Huck PAC endorsed candidate Bob McDonnell.  Bob is running for Governor of Virginia.  He has what it takes to be a great leader for Virginia.

Our goal for the day is to make 10,000 calls to Virginia voters. We are asking participants at each House Party to make a few calls using their cell phones.  You do not have to make calls to attend a Party and participation is FREE.  We will provide the lists of voters names and phone scripts for everyone willing to participate.

First though, we need House Party hosts.  If you are interested in hosting a House Party or want more information please contact Katie Beth Harris at Huck PAC or call Huck PAC at 501-324-2008.  Her email is katiebeth.harris(at)mikehuckabee.com.

As we identify House Party Hosts we will add their party information to the map below.

Christian Patriotism in Idaho

Wise Idahoans have a keen sense of where to tread lightly. When we hear someone identified as a “patriot,” the smart ones of us shut our mouths and listen closely. We know too much that can be said, and too many that might take sides against us if we blunder into conflict with the belief systems of another. Idahoans have strong beliefs, and sometimes those beliefs border on extremism. Regrettably, the negative attention paid to the extreme beliefs has prevented a strong grassroots conservative movement from taking hold in Idaho. We are splintered into so many different groups and issues; if Idaho Christians could come together in strong union with a powerful, mainstream political movement our ideals would be easily implemented. It’s time for Idaho Christians to talk about our choices openly and decide which offers the greatest chance to bring Christian stewardship to our great nation that was once founded upon the principles we hold dear.

A large majority of Idahoans believe in God; probably an even larger majority believes in the Constitution of the United States. The spiritual and the natural beliefs have somehow gotten all mixed up together, and formed odd, ineffective, sometimes dangerous and sometimes wicked organizations to advance conservative causes.

We have four different conservative groupings within our great state of Idaho.

Identity Christians

The shame of Idaho is hidden behind in the shadows of the trees and mountains and wilderness that are barely touched by civilization. The Racist Identity movement gathered great attention in the 1990’s, as they advanced their cause with disruptive and evil actions that resulted in murder and mayhem. Some of these Racist Identity Christians include the Aryan Nations Church, the Covenant, Sword and the Arm of the Lord, Knights of the KKK, Mountain Church, National Alliance, Socialist Nationalist Aryan Peoples Party, White American Bastion, White American Resistance, and the White Student Union (Aho 1995, 19). Thankfully, communities all over the state of Idaho bravely stood up to the fear-mongering, hateful, Jew and Black hating terrorists, and forced them to leave or hide their activities from the view of real Idaho. They crossed the line of sensibilities of wisdom and goodness, and Idahoans had reached their ability to tolerate all beliefs; they were run out of town.

In their place, another group of Identity Christians began gaining ground in Idaho. These gatherings claim non-racism in their belief, but often exhibit white Christian supremacy in their stance. While some seem to have a sincere belief of the separation of races in their Christian faith, all are on the fringes of common belief in Idaho. These Non-Racist Identity groups include Christ’s Gospel Fellowship, Inc., Church of Israel, Elijah Message, Gospel of Christ Kingdom Church, Lord’s Covenant Church, National Message Ministry, Scriptures for America, and the World Wide Church of God. The Non- Racist Identity Christians basically differ from the Racist Identity Christians in one belief; Non-Racists believe that Jews are members of a satanic religion, while Racists believe that Jews are members of a satanic race (Aho 1995, 20). The Non-Racist Identity Christians have learned to walk quietly in their beliefs, and stay secluded with like-kind usually; but most Idahoans hear their whispers when times turn difficult in our nation.

Christian Constitutionalists

Idaho has a great many Christian Constitutionalists in our midst. They are our neighbors and our friends and family. Usually, they are not hard to identify, because they talk a great deal about what is wrong with this country and how it can be fixed if only the Constitution of the United States was enforced by the legislative and executive offices of the United States. Idaho Christian Constitutionalists are brave defenders of the constitution, and gather firearms up passionately, preparing for that awful day when invasion is imminent. These groups include CAUSA, Freemen Institute, John Birch Society, Idaho Patriots, Sons of Liberty, Mayflower Institute, Posse Comitatus, and more extreme in identity belief, the Barrister’s Inn School of Common Law, Committee to Restore the Constitution, Flying Eagle, Liberty Lobby and Populist Party of Idaho (Aho 1995, 19). Most Christian Constitutionalists lean toward upholding the Constitution of the United States more than the teachings of Jesus Christ. They seem to declare the Constitution as a holy work of God, and believe that their defense of it to be righteous and good.

Issue-Oriented Patriots

Some conservative Idahoans become political when issues that are important to them are in danger. These types of groups include the Center for Market Alternatives, Christian Coalition Association, Christian Voters Victory Fund, Concerned Women for America, Eagle Forum, Followers of Christ, Idaho Home School Association, Idaho Right-to-Life, Inc., Independent Educators of Idaho, Moral Majority, Inc., and Restored Israel of Yahweh (Aho 1995, 19). Their conservative efforts are very narrow and focused only on the advancement of their own cause.

Mainstream Conservative Christian Patriots

Mainstream Idaho Christian Conservatives want to stand for the righteous government of the United States. We love our Lord and Savior, our America, and our fellow man; we have no agenda toward a campaign of hatred and desire only that our voices be heard. We want to lend our voices to support causes that matter to God and matter to us. We want America to rise up to the challenges of the world, and offer Godly hope and direction to those who are oppressed. We want God to bless America; we support the legislative, judicial and executive branches of our government with prayers, and talk among themselves of the changes that need to come. Our groups include only one…Huck PAC. Huck PAC gives mainstream conservative Christian believers a legitimate voice in the politics and policies that has a chance to direct change in America.

Governor Huckabee does not quiet the believer when the name of Christ is mentioned; in fact, his beliefs and bearing are measured upon the Savior’s will and ways. It is an extraordinary wisdom and skill, with a dose of blessing from God that gives Governor Huckabee the ability to stand in the world and declare conservative agendas. Finally, Idaho conservative Christians have a mainstream organization that can represent ideas and movements that bring righteousness, rather than worldliness or terrorism or special interests to bear. We have the potential to force great change together in an acceptable and potent political movement that is filled with many Christians throughout the nation, and led by a man of God. Stand up Idaho Christians and join the grassroots movement of Huck PAC to bring righteous policies back to American government; we need your talent, your time and your contributions to help form a Godly nation we can be proud of once again.

Some Of Us

If Republican politicians lose their bearings in the climate of radical change of American policy, how can the people of Idaho know the directions to travel, the places to stand, and the hopes to dream? Death of conservative politics means death to the values of righteous living. Idahoans risk becoming as commoners of the popular party blue states, where sanctity of life and the right to defend and live freely without the oppression of federal government is thought to be gauche.

The most sobering realization is that we’re only one new law away from losing every right that we hold dear and have based our lives upon. Idahoans are a proud and free people who found their lives upon the values of our conservative heritage. We speak our mind because we are free to speak it, and we gather together and discuss our problems and solve them quickly. Yet, those two basic rights can be thought subversive and threatening to the blue government, and are only one law away from being illegal.

H.R. 256 and H.R. 262 bills when implemented will take drastic measures against those who “induce someone to commit a crime” after reading a Bible passage, or counseling someone, or speaking against a group in a protected status. The liberals say the hate crime bill is necessary to protect their causes and to give teeth to law enforcement when they observe biased offenders. Who are the biased offenders? Those who claim to be led by a higher order; those who are led by God are thought equal to be led by those of the Fuhrer (p. 20) in the government explanation. The hate-crimes law expands prosecution to those who make another “feel intimidated”.

Are you prepared to be placed in jail for teaching about the second coming of Jesus Christ? Are you willing to kiss your family goodbye for ten to twenty years because you choose to stand for unborn babies by carrying a sign? Are you ready to be called a traitor to your country because you have served with honor as a trained warrior, thus classified as a possible threat to the nation you defended with your own blood? Are you ready to lose your rights because you make another “feel” bad when you speak your belief?

Some of us must stand and declare conservative values even as they are declared illegal by popular pundits. And “some of us” must be led by powerful conservative leaders that have the ability to gather people together to form a coalition and give us the power to defend the things of freedom we value in Idaho. Huck PAC has the potential of harnessing that power to keep conservative values alive, and Governor Huckabee has the charismatic leadership to be heard. It just takes “some of us” to join together and make our conservative voices heard; the more that speak, the louder the message.

I hope that “some of us” are “more of us” from Idaho, and that our strong foundations of a conservative and strong local government can be a model for many of the Republican politicians who seem to have lost their way. It’s time to stand up Idahoans for the freedoms we hold dear; join the conservative Huck PAC and lend your voice to our fervent message to ensure freedom to live our lives.

Why Idaho Is A Perfect Match for Huck PAC

What makes Idaho such a perfect match for Huck PAC’s conservative values?  We are a unique people, different from all other states.  Collectively we embrace conservative values the most.  We cherish life, and are sickened when that life is sucked out of a woman without regard to the special creation of a living soul.  We need our guns for work and play and survival; we have no need for government control of our firearms because we wield them responsibly and effectively.  In fact, it will be the people of Idaho that would be first on the front lines to support and defend the United States from its enemies.  We are brave and skilled in defending ourselves and our way of life, and should that call to arms ever come, the committed citizens would line up with a patriotic fervor unsurpassed by any other.

Idahoans know how to survive and can teach others that skill.  While the city folk of the big states have long ago forgotten where their food comes from, the conservative Idahoan knows.  We’re the ones that harvest the wildlife to feed our families, and plow the Palouse hills to grow the wheat and soybeans and peas to feed our own.  We cultivate the southern crops of onions, potatoes and oats.  We harvest the timber for our shelter, and ore the silver for our wares!  The Clearwater and Salmon rivers flow freely, and provide us with the salmon and steelhead in abundance.  The Native People of our lands have shared their ways with us, and we have been wise in embracing their knowledge.  Conservative Idahoans are survivalists and depend upon no government to feed their families.  It is with their hands and labor that Idaho takes care of its own, and provides for the least of the least through responsible welfare programs that encourages growth of the earnest rather than entitlement of the lazy.

We are a different kind of people, and we know it.  We rely upon ourselves, not on big government, and we look to our own resources to take care of our own.  Many of us carry the Bill of Rights in our pockets, and almost all of us know the Constitution that the United States deeply within our hearts.  We cherish our rights, and demand they be upheld, as our fore fathers intended so long ago.

We don’t want anyone from the United States government minding our business, and telling us what to do; if the constitution gives us the right to live, we believe we should get that choice!  We want to form our laws of governance locally; we’re wise enough to enact the laws that affect our ways, and have no need for big government to tell us how to live in our own communities.

We cherish our freedoms and our ways of life.  We depend on our rights to live a life free from government control.  We want our homes to stay protected from invasion from prying eyes and government watchers.  We desire our money to be of value, and our produce to have a market.  We want to work for our living.  We want the money we give to big government to be used wisely, and not spent upon the institutions that have destroyed America through their irresponsible policies of past.

Idahoans are a unique people, different from all other conservative people in the nation.  It is the conservative Huck PAC that gives Idahoans a voice, and an opportunity to protect the things we hold so dear to our lives.

Welcome to Huck PAC!  Take time to reflect upon our uniqueness and add to this post all the things that make Idahoans perfect for the causes Huck PAC represents.

Better, Not Just Redder

For some folks, politics is a game, and picking a candidate for the legislature is about the same as picking their fantasy football team. Indeed, you’ll find multiple politicians asking the same question, “How can we make the country redder?”

Governor Huckabee’s right when he advocates vertical politics, and the question we need to ask is not how do we make our country redder, but how do we make it better.

If electing Republicans was some guarantee of creating Utopia, then in Idaho, we would have arrived. Republicans hold a 52-18 edge in the House, and a 28-7 edge in the Senate. I like to tell folks that Idaho Senate Democrats have less seats that a Toyota Sequoia.

So, how do things fare in our state? I love living in Idaho, and we are better off than many states. But sadly, Republicans haven’t done a whole lot with the power given them.

In education, there is resistance to basic reforms, such as merit pay for teachers who teach well and making it easier to fire bad teachers. Charter schools are treated as an alien concept just off the mother ship.

Our tax code is a disaster. We rank 29th in business tax environment, according to the National Tax Foundation. we’ve got a complicated and confusing state income tax code as well as a state sales tax code with so many loopholes you could drive a fleet of trucks through it. A solid Republican state should do better.

Why is this the status quo in a state that is as Republican as Republican can be? While there are many great Republicans trying to make needed changes, many are quite content to rest on their laurels. The thought goes, if Republicans are winning elections, why worry? Why mess with a good thing and risk somebody getting mad at you? Thus the fight for reform is a long one that is often disappointing.

In Idaho, the people I’ll invest time and energy in are not the people who promise to help make our state redder, but who focus on making needed reforms that will make our state a better place to raise a family, send your kids to school, and start a business. We need leaders in Idaho, and across America, who view elected office as a means and not just an end.

The Essential Elements

Life is strange. If you’d told me fourteen months ago, I’d be a State Coordinator for Mike Huckabee’s organization, I would have said that you were nuts. I was not a backer of Mike Huckabee. In fact, several of my blog posts and podcasts went after his candidacy in November-December, 2008.

I’ve had a profound change of heart about Governor Huckabee based on two things. First is learning the “little details” left out of the anti-Huckabee narrative. Second, and most importantly, when the race came down to the last four weeks between Governor Huckabee and Senator McCain, I had to focus on what mattered most—what I should have focused on all along.

First of all, we must restore respect for the sanctity of human life, and we must once again understand what John Adams said. Our Constitution was made for a religious and moral people, and it’s unsuitable for any other. It’s absurd for us to think we can be free if we deny freedom to others, and it’s equally to absurd to believe that freedom can survive in a moral vacuum.

Secondly, we must protect our basic first Amendment rights to freedom of speech and religion, and our second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms.

Third, we have to stop all the fiscal irresponsibility and bailouts. My mouth drops at the size of the massive debt we’re running up. It threatens to bankrupt my generation and the generation after.

Finally, it’s time to abolish the income tax and replace it with the Fair Tax. The time for half measures is past. Only the Fair Tax is going to give us a shot at increasing economic growth enough that we will avoid total fiscal disaster, when coupled with responsible reductions in spending.

The key towards forming a cohesive movement is separating the essential from the non- consequential. I’m proud to be part of HuckPAC because it will promote candidates that hold to these essential conservative values.

A Dedicated Heart

I am a Becker Bible Studies author and teacher of Guided Bible Studies for Hungry Christians, which has an online presence.
I'm currently attending Liberty University DLP, and I'm in my senior year, seeking a Bachelor of Science degree in religion.  I am a disabled vet.  Most importantly, I am the parent of four grown children, and the adopted parent of three more young children whom we homeschool.

I don't know how much I have to offer Huck PAC, but my skills in computing and writing, coupled with my firm desire to support his effort should be of some assistance. I am very skillful with a computer, and have received extensive, college level professional training in the use of Access database, Excel spreadsheet, and all of the other Office Products. I am also skilled in using the Project Management software from Microsoft, and can coordinate big projects effectively. I'm also pretty skillful at Internet use, HTML and XML programming for Internet sites, and a writer of blogs. I write words really well, and I am a very hard worker with a common sense wisdom that serves my different obligations perfectly.  I have a clear line between the things of church and state, but I hold strong belief in the same things that Mike Huckabee supports, and I am not ashamed to express those beliefs in the appropriate settings.

I am certain I have less experience in politics than everyone else involved with Huck PAC; however, I am a quick learner. I have a dedicated heart to support Governor Huckabee's efforts by standing with him as he speaks the things America needs to hear, before it is too late.
