The Sky Is Falling

The sky is falling or at least Washington seems to think so. And because they do, get ready for new taxes, new spending and new regulations. The nanny state is alive and well and if you don't listen and do what Washington tells you to do, you might just get hit on the head. So watch out this morning when you leave your front door, because you never know what might hit you

Huck PAC House Parties August 22nd!

On August 22nd Huck PAC supporters will gather to meet one another and make phone calls on behalf of Huck PAC endorsed candidate Bob McDonnell.  Bob is running for Governor of Virginia.  He has what it takes to be a great leader for Virginia.

Our goal for the day is to make 10,000 calls to Virginia voters. We are asking participants at each House Party to make a few calls using their cell phones.  You do not have to make calls to attend a Party and participation is FREE.  We will provide the lists of voters names and phone scripts for everyone willing to participate.

First though, we need House Party hosts.  If you are interested in hosting a House Party or want more information please contact Katie Beth Harris at Huck PAC or call Huck PAC at 501-324-2008.  Her email is katiebeth.harris(at)mikehuckabee.com.

As we identify House Party Hosts we will add their party information to the map below.

I Made A Difference

"Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side," said President Abraham Lincoln, "my greatest concern is to be on God's side, for God is always right." It is incumbent on all of us as US citizens to do our part to hold the Courts accountable to the true Laws and the Constitution. If we don't like the laws then we must work to change them, but until they are legally changed, they must be followed exactly as they were written and in the spirit that the Framers of our Constitution meant them to be as protection for our country.

I started caring about politics in 2007 when the Presidential Primaries started. At first I focused on McCain and Giuliani, but after watching the debates I found that I started to liked Huckabee more and more until I decided that this was the guy I'd be supporting in 2008. When Mike won Iowa, not only won it, but by a wide margin, I was so happy that a conservative who worked his way up in life was leading in the Presidential contest. Mike proved you don't need money, but a positive message and a strong volunteer team that will take you to victory.

In August of 2008, I started going weekly to the county Republican office in Colorado. I live in Jefferson County which is very competitive because usually you can't win a state-wide election without our swing county. I made 100 phones calls or more each time because Mike got me involved. Even though I’m just a kid I made a difference. I joined Huck PAC because Mike is a different type of person supporting different types of candidates. Candidates that aren't just politicians, but real people who will represent you. Now I'm currently working on three races for 2009 and 2010 with one in a different state, Connecticut. Mike got me started in politics like many of you guys and I wanted to share that you CAN make a difference. No matter how small it is, it ALWAYS helps.

Governor Ritter's Plans

Governor Ritter says he will sign legislation for illegal aliens to receive in-state tuition. It seems that the popular opinion here is to make services and programs for illegal aliens as easy as possible. I made this comment to  someone the other day and their response was at least they are not the ones standing on the street corner asking for money. We do have a large homeless population in Denver and it seems that someone who had the view point of being protective of illegal aliens  would want the same equal treatment for homeless American citizens.

Changing the Founding Fathers Ideas

Here in Colorado, there’s a move being pushed by Democrats in the state legislature to join an “interstate compact” that would, if states representing 270 electoral votes or more join, give those states’ electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote, essentially ensuring that we have moved to direct democracy in this country — just what our Founders were wisely trying to avoid. Does anyone know what other states are considering this?

Colorado's Use of Stimulus Money

Wanted to let everyone know what Colorado is doing with the stimulus money. Colorado is expected to receive an estimated $3 billion in direct funding, benefits and services from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. This estimate does not include tax relief for individuals and businesses, certain federal appropriations or competitive grants. "This is a major step forward for Colorado," Gov. Ritter said. "Construction is expected to begin on these projects in the next month, and that means jobs saved and jobs created for Colorado workers. We continue to move as quickly, efficiently and effectively as possible to ensure the Recovery Act is doing what it is intended to do."

A Common Sense Approach

My husband and I are considered DINKS (dual income no kids) however, we have one dog. I work for the feds and my husband the city and county of Denver. Both my parents have followed and tracked politics to the point they could tell you about what every President accomplished etc. I did not share their passion until recently. My husband and I have noticed that there are  a lot of double standards for our elected officials and things that are getting passed in Congress that do not make any logical sense. We believe that instead of complaining about it we want to take action in whatever way we can. The first time we saw Governor Huckabee speak was on his show on Fox. We appreciate his common sense approach and how he may not agree with another persons opinion he is still civil about it. I like that he has guests on his show that do present another perspective.  So basically the reason we joined the team is to take action and do what we could to support getting people in elected positions that share the same common sense.

Thanks
