Candidates

Dr. Robert Bentley

For Governor 2010
Alabama
Huck PAC and I are pleased to announce our support of Dr. Robert Bentley for Governor of Alabama. Robert is the conservative reformer who will fight the federal government, clean up Montgomery, and put Alabamians back to work.

Robert is the author of the Alabama Reemployment Act of 2010 – which passed the House and Senate unanimously and will create 5,000 new jobs by cutting taxes on businesses that hire new employees.

Robert will defend Alabama's sovereignty from crushing federal oversight and will protect each Alabamian's right to legally purchase, own, carry and use firearms. As an Air Force medic, Robert also served his country and treated soldiers wounded in Vietnam.

You never have to question where Robert stands on the key social issues, because we know that he sincerely believes that life begins at conception, and that marriage is a sacred union between one man and one woman. He is 100% pro life and pro marriage

I hope you will join me in supporting Dr. Robert Bentley and make him the next Governor of Alabama

The Sky Is Falling

The sky is falling or at least Washington seems to think so. And because they do, get ready for new taxes, new spending and new regulations. The nanny state is alive and well and if you don't listen and do what Washington tells you to do, you might just get hit on the head. So watch out this morning when you leave your front door, because you never know what might hit you

Huck PAC House Parties August 22nd!

On August 22nd Huck PAC supporters will gather to meet one another and make phone calls on behalf of Huck PAC endorsed candidate Bob McDonnell.  Bob is running for Governor of Virginia.  He has what it takes to be a great leader for Virginia.

Our goal for the day is to make 10,000 calls to Virginia voters. We are asking participants at each House Party to make a few calls using their cell phones.  You do not have to make calls to attend a Party and participation is FREE.  We will provide the lists of voters names and phone scripts for everyone willing to participate.

First though, we need House Party hosts.  If you are interested in hosting a House Party or want more information please contact Katie Beth Harris at Huck PAC or call Huck PAC at 501-324-2008.  Her email is katiebeth.harris(at)mikehuckabee.com.

As we identify House Party Hosts we will add their party information to the map below.

Les Phillip For Congress Event

Wow!  What a night this was for me.  This was my first political fundraiser and it could not have been more exciting.  I got to start the afternoon at a Meet and Greet event before the actual fundraiser where I got to meet MikeHuckabee and get lots of pictures.  He was very gracious and thanked me and everyone involved with Huck PAC for all we are doing.  Les Phillip and I have gotten to know each other quite well and even though he is almost as new to all of this as I am, they certainly know how to put on a great event!  It was a sell out crowd of about 400 people (I even saw them set up another table or two after we got there!).  I also really enjoyed getting to meet several of the Huck PAC members!  Thank you all for introducing yourselves and I really look forward to working with you in the coming months.  It was a great night for "networking" and I am very excited about the potential growth for Huck PAC in Alabama.

I was asked by Les to sit at the Head Table (which was on the stage!) and he placed me next to Governor Huckabee.  Luckily I made through dinner without incident, but a friend of mine was standing by with a camera just in case!  :)  I enjoyed eavesdropping on the conversation between Mike and Les , and getting in on some of that conversation too.  It was really nice to see the two men interact.  I have to tell you all though, the night exceeded all my expectations.  I am not really sure what I was expecting, but the words of both men last night have really inspired me to get to work. Gov Huckabee 's speech about Les was amazing.  Even I was more impressed with Les (if that is possible) after the speech!  He challenged everyone in the crowd to get busy, contact people about Les and get them to agree to get involved.  He was funny as always.  He reminded us of something he used to tell us during the primary too.  We are not to get "behind Les", but get "beside Les" as we help him reach Washington.  He also said, when he first started to speak, "I think we have just witnessed a magnificent address by not only a future Alabama congressman, but by one of our future national leaders of the Republican Party,"  I agree wholeheartedly with him on that.

Les spoke before Huckabee and "introduced himself," as I like to call, it to the crowd.  Les' story is one of the true American Dream.  His family came to this country when he was just a boy.  He has had three "God Moments" as he has started call them in his life that has lead him to where he is today.  One at 6 years of age, when the path was laid for him to become a pilot.  One at 16, when after reading Ezekiel 22:30 he asked God to open his eyes to a time when he was going to be asked to "stand in the gap" and for the courage to do what was required when that time came.  And one this year, during the State of the Union Address, when he asked God what He was going to do about the socialist direction our country was heading down.  As he looked up in the mirror over the bathroom sink he was leaning over he realized at that moment the question God was asking him was...What are you going to do about it Les?  You can visit his website at www.LesPhillip.com if you would like to learn more about him or contribute!  We are so blessed to have a congressional candidate like Les in North Alabama.
I pray that for many of our states as we head into the 2010 elections.

I want to remind you all how new I am to this.  I have only been in the world of politics since the republican primary in 2008, and I have really only been involved in state politics for a few months.  I didn't have any connections or know anyone when I got started, I just stepped out of my comfort zone, met Les and rest has been like a freight train.  Les started out the same way.  He didn't have any seed money or connections, but he accomplished so much in really just a few months.  Just think of what this organization can become if we all just reach out and start working.  I heard on so many occasions last night, I have never been involved before but I just felt like I needed to do something.  We all can make a difference if we just engage in the process!

It Is Time To Speak Up

My name is Holly Bush and I am the Shelby County Alabama Group Leader as well as one of the State Coordinators for Huck PAC. I live in the city of Alabaster where I have resided for about six years now. I am a wife and mother of two, one thirteen year old boy and one four year old girl. I cannot look at my children these days without wondering what kind of America we are leaving them to inherit. Our basic freedoms granted by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights have been eroded slowly but surely over the years and now we are beginning to reap a bitter harvest. But does that mean that the battle is lost then? Only if good men and women do not begin to take a stand and speak up. I believe that the battle for hearts and minds is only just beginning. But how do we counter these so-called "progressive" ideas that seek to wipe out our Constitution and our freedoms, all in the deceptive name of "fairness and equality"?

My answer is to counter with whatever means God has given you.

What about your time? Can you hand out flyers for a candidate that values our heritage and the America envisioned by our founders? Don't have time? What about your resources? Can you send in five, ten, twenty, fifty dollars or more to support a candidate who is willing to become a citizen servant in our government to hold the front lines in our battle? Don't have money? What about your voice? Can you use it to spread the word and influence your circle of family, friends, acquaintances to understand the times and educate them on these issues?

God values the battle ahead, my fellow Americans, because God values freedom. And our freedoms are under attack. We need to send representatives into government who are principled people who understand that the work that they are sent to do is the on the front lines of the battle to secure our freedoms, reducing government influence over our lives, and giving Americans back their right to freedom of speech and rule by God and not by man. The patriots who first secured our freedoms over two hundred years ago and thereby changed the world did so with much sacrifice of time, wealth...and blood. We must find our voices and find the strength and the passion for our nation and its people to do something.

It is time to speak up and get the Word out!!! Will you stand and speak out with me?

Les Phillip For Congress

Huck PAC and I are pleased to endorse Les Phillip for Congress, representing District 5 in Alabama.  Les Phillip is a true American success story.  He was born in the tiny Caribbean country of Trinidad - Tobago.  His family moved to St. Croix before immigrating to the United States.  Les and his family came to the United States in 1971, and settled in Baltimore, Maryland.  He entered the United States Naval Academy in 1981. He left the military in 1993 and he and his wife Merle currently own a business located in Madison, Alabama.

Les Phillip became involved in politics in 1984, just six years after becoming a naturalized American citizen.  Les became concerned with the daily struggles of middle class America after becoming a parent and working in the private sector.  Les realized that life is not just about where you are going but what you leave behind to your children and grandchildren.

Les is an outstanding Conservative Republican who fully understands the important issues facing his district, his state and his country.  His principles are the same as those of Huck PAC and me.  He is strongly pro-life, saying "As the Father of three daughters and a Christian I can honestly say that I am pro-life. I truly respect God’s power of creation and the blessing he gives us in our children."  Les Phillip is a supporter of the FairTax.  He believes the FairTax "will reduce the burden on lower income families while it treats everyone fairly, without a reduction of income to the government. As long as the government has the power to tax our income, we, the people, will continue to work for the government. It’s time to take control of our government and make it work for the citizens again."

Les Phillip understands the issue of Immigration.  As an immigrant himself, he believes that our laws must be enforced and our borders secured.  He also recognizes that the security of the United States is the primary duty of the Federal Government.  I am pleased to endorse Les Phillip and urge you to support him and his campaign.

Team Huck Growing in Alabama

When Huck PAC contacted me about being a state coordinator for Alabama it could not have been a worse moment. I am on the board of our local children's theatre and we were right in the middle of the biggest production we have done. Not only that, but my girls were in the production and my husband was playing one of the lead roles. My first thought was no way I can take this on "I'm too busy", but there was just something inside me that kept telling me over and over "you need to do this." So I agreed, feeling a little guilty that I wasn't going to be able to do much for over a month. A few weeks ago I really turned my efforts to organizing Alabama. I have really enjoyed working with Holly Bush and we have started to see some growth in Team Huck here in the state. We have had several people step up and agree to take on their counties and I have already met a candidate for my Congressional Seat that I am so excited about and working to get a Huck PAC endorsement for.

You see, I am new to the "game" of politics. The last election was the first one I had ever actually done more than vote in! I have never sat and talked with someone running for office at length until last week. I wasn't sure that I knew enough about politics to do the job that Huck PAC needed me to do, but God is providing me with the tools I need. You too can do so much more than you think you can, think you have time to do, or think you know how to do. Volunteering to be a State Coordinator is one of the best things that has happened to me in a while. I have so enjoyed making connections with others across the state. I get so excited when I talk with someone that feels the same way I do and is ready to work to make our state better. I know we are going to be successful in working together, we just need more people to get involved! It gives me a since of pride that I am taking the anger I feel at things I have no control over, and putting it to good use to make a difference for the future. The doors seem to be opening daily for me and all I have to do is walk through them . I feel as if I am being lead and if I just pay attention, I will know what to do next.

Don't sit on the sidelines this time around. Every election I can remember you hear that famous saying...."this is the most important election ever." But the fact is, THIS election is what I like to call a Direction Election. We have REAL choices about what the future of America is going to be, what direction we will take as a country, and what kind of country we are going to leave for our kids. America WILL be a radically different county than the one I grew up in if we fail. And our competition is as motivated as we are to make sure they win. Please join with us today, on this National Volunteer Day, as we work to better our states and in turn better our Nation for our children and grandchildren.

Keep Your Fork

I am sorry that we have been a little slow to the table here in Alabama.  I tend to take on more than I can handle sometimes, but I am working on that!  I didn't get to attend our local tea party today because of a sick child but I have been trying to keep up with them from around the country.

I watched Mike's speech from SC today and the way he ended it was typical Huckabee.  He again gave us a rallying cry to get behind.  If you didn't get the chance to watch it I am sure it will be posted here soon.  I don't want to ruin it for you if you haven't yet seen it but each of you have been inspired by something.  My question to you is what are you going to do now?

It isn't enough to be inspired or angry, we have to channel that into something that is productive.  It is time that we not only talk with each other, but we spread the word outside of our comfort zones.  If we truly want things to change we have to reach out to others.  Now is the time!  We are being challenged, are we going to leave a better America for our kids?  Over the weekend my family attended a Lad to Leaders/Leadettes Convention.  This is a program that teaches kids how to be leaders.  It is a program that both my husband and I were a part of as kids.  My 3rd grader won 1st place in the speech competition and 3rd in Songs of Praise (or song leading).

I am telling you this because we are each given gifts from God.  Some of us are blessed to learn what those gifts are at an early age, and some of us don't really know what those gifts are until we are required to use them.  Some of you reading this want to do more but just don't know where to start, right?  My advice to you.....just start somewhere!  It may seem small and insignificant at the moment, but look at it as a building block.  God has a reason for each of you to be part of this movement.

My goal is to really get Alabama going.  I need your help to do that.  If you are not signed up, please do so today!  Reach out to others and get them signed up also.  We need more volunteers and more leaders.  Will you join us today?

We Can Move Mountains

I am a stay-at-home mother of 2 girls.  My 6 year old has Type 1 Diabetes.  She was diagnosed at the age of 19 months.  I got to know Mike Huckabee after a debate during the primaries.  His position on health care is was got my attention, but his common since way of thinking is was got me working.  I had never worked or given money to a political campaign before.  But I felt like Mike Huckabee was exactly what this country needed.  I got involved with Huck PAC because I feel as if it gives me a voice.  After the primaries, I realized the "republican party" had quit listening to its base.  It had left the principles that brought it to power in the first place.  I have confidence that Huck PAC will stick to the core principles and only support candidates that are going to fight for those principles.  When I look at what is taking place in our nations capital and then I look at my girls, I know that I have to do something.  Their future depends on whither we are strong enough to return America back to it core values.  I am going to do what I can to make that happen.  Even though I am new to the political scene, I feel as if God is guiding me.  One of my favorite times from the primary was when Mike called his supports "his 5 smooth stones."  It was a constant reminder to me that Gods answer was not "n"o to us, but just "not now."  I believe that even though we are few in number, if we remain faithful to God and his principles then we can move mountains.
